The Rocky Mountain Model Club was founded in the spring of 1993 by a group of local modellers who wished to share their interest of the scale plastic model hobby.  Initially we met at Tuxedo Park Community Center, but that was soon outgrown and meetings moved to Winston Heights Community Centre.  This worked well for many years, but eventually a change was made and meetings moved to our current location: Art Smith Aero Centre / SAIT.

In December of 2010, the club voted to become a Chapter within the IPMS Canada fold.  While a national membership is not required to be a part of the  RMMC, we encourage you to support the national organization through being a member.

Membership has varied in numbers over the years, but those that are active with the club enjoy the comradery and events that the club participates in.  Some of these include open houses at the following:

• Nanton: Bomber Command Museum of Canada,
• Calgary: Aero Space Museum of Calgary,
• Olds: Hobby Show,
• Red Deer: Long weekend Build Gatherings,

as well as the various contests around the province.
