Maple Palette is a community-building miniature painting event that features painting minigames, learning workshops, a main event painting competition and prizing.  It is open and welcoming to both beginners and veterans alike.

Events being run this year are:
-Speedpainting (paint quick as you can)
-No Brush Rush (no brushes allowed)
-Monochrome Challenge (one colour + black and white)
-COLOUR THIEF! (slowly available colours are removed from the pool – adapt, overcome)And returning this year is our ALL-DAY kitbashing challenge, Kitbash CLASH!

We have also stepped up the workshops this year, covering more topics led by some very talented local artists (more info on our site):
-Beyond Basic Colour Theory – Ambience and Atmosphere
-Ultimate Contrast
-Just Paint The Base – Comic Style Basing
-Blood and Gore Effects: The Advanced Made Easy
-Intro To Weathering

Main competition categories have been refined this year including a new JUNIORS category which was highly requested last year.

We will also be joined by a special guest judge this year for the main competition – artist and Youtuber Dana Howl! (https://www.youtube.com/@DanaHowl)

Vendors are also being introduced for the 2025 event – so if you’re a local/Canadian business involved in the hobby, reach out to reserve space for a booth!

This event is a great way to meet other painters, get involved in the community, learn from each other and to *get out of your hobby dungeons*!
