In the RT editor’s “ready rounds” article folder, I have only five RT articles ready to go that are NOT aircraft; none of these are for military vehicle or equipment subjects. In the “not yet ready” folder there is only one ‘army’ article that will be coming to me sometime in the future. To put a fine point on it, this is not good for the content balance in RT.

This situation isn’t a problem as long as you’re an aircraft modeller, but I’m trying to provide material that will be of interest to those members whose subject interests are in other areas of our hobby. I really want to have a mix of articles in each issue; ideally at least one aircraft, one armour, and one of… something else, like civilian vehicles, ship, space, sci-fi, figures, et al. After that, I’ll fill the issue with what I hope will further balance out the issue to cover more subject areas.

RT is a member-driven publication, and members make it what it is. If it’s just, or mostly, the aircraft folks writing up the articles, then I don’t have much choice or the variety I want to present to the membership.

So, all you wonderful military  vehicle and equipment guys and gals, if you’ve got a ground-bound army modelling project that you’ve been photo-documenting (even with your phone camera at the workbench), please get in touch with me at [email protected]. For more info about how to get involved please visit How You Can Help. Part of the editing process is me working with you to polish the material up for publication, so you needn’t worry if you think you don’t write words so good. I have a great Google Docs editing process where we can work it up together.
