Ian Moore has contributed a comprehensive listing of RCN vessels with some of the kits available as starting points.

This is a work-in-progress, and will be refined as more input becomes available.

Fans of RCN warships have a double challenge. The RCN used many vessels that were hand me downs from other navies, converted yachts or ships modified to suit wartime north Atlantic theatre conditions.

Unlike the first 40 years when most were RN designs the Postwar RCN had many unique designs not used by any other country and not of interest to most model manufacturers.

Also there are few kits sold representing RCN versions or markings even though many of the classes were built in Canada under contract for other navies. There are MANY gaps on the list.

The attached table is intended as a starting point for the most common ship classes and the companies I am aware of whose kits may be used as a basis to finish an RCN ship. Updates are welcome.
