Important News Regarding Renewal and RT
July 25th, 2009
In order to reduce our production costs and warehouse storage requirements (i.e., the Archivist's/Back Issues'/Special Products' Minister's basement), starting with RT 31/1 we reduced our RT print run down to the actual up-to-date membership count needs. In order to get production and mailing done smoothly, we need to 'freeze' the print count about one month prior to mailing, with only ten or so extra issues left over for back issue purchase and for copies of RT lost in the mail.
It is therefore EXTREMELY IMPORTANT for all members to take action on your IPMS Canada renewal notice without delay. It hasn't usually been too much of a problem in the past, but effective NOW if you miss a current issue of RT because of a late renewal it will become very much more difficult to obtain a copy of any missing issues.
Because we are now working very hard to produce and mail your RT on a fixed calendar date system, the Circulation Minister cannot 'backdate' a late application or renewal to include a missed issue. Don't delay on your renewal! All late-renewing members and all new members who wish to pick up a current or recent issue of RT will be taking the very real chance of missing an issue, and will have to try and order one of the few available copies by writing in and/or ordering through the web page Back Issue process:
