The meeting was called to order at 1930 hrs, after a traditional feast of burnt offerings were given to all Exec members, on 10 July 2006 at the home of Steve Sauvé.  Apparently "anytime after 5" meant 6 P.M. to these guys...

Chapter Liaison (via e-mail)

It was noted that
Gary has been very active at restoring and maintaining contact with our Chartered Chapters.

We now have several new Chartered Chapters operating or in preparation to start up operations.  These are located in

  • Hamilton, Ontario -  Canadian Warplane Heritage Modellers

  • Waterdown, Ontario - near Hamilton

  • St. Catharines, Ontario may be starting up chapter operations again, and

  • a model club in Tennessee, USA contacted Gary with an eye to starting an IPMS Canada chapter

Gary posed a question about the need to send out a new Chapter Charter each year.  It was discussed and the feeling was that we could live without sending the documents, but perhaps something like those yearly renewal seals you see on your barber shop license might be a way to go. .

Gary proposed that we add more Charter Chapter info into RT.  Unfortunately our 'spotty' production schedule makes the publication of date-sensitive material a tricky proposition.

The IPMS Canada webpage notice about the 'Kits for Khandahar' brought several favourable notes of appreciation from the membership.  The deHavilland Scale Modellers got all over this project like stink on a monkey and sent a substantial shipment of modelling goodies to the organizer in Halifax.
