Dave in Cambridge [Dave's Card Creations]

Hello everyone, my name is Dave (airdave)
I am an Artist and Graphic designer.
I also build and design Paper Models.

Hang out mostly at papermodelers.com on the web,
but I have been searching for local Clubs and Individuals interested in Card Modeling.
I've also been looking for info on local Events and Shows.

Figured it was time to join the dreaded "plastic" builders! lol
since IPMS in the US now recognizes the newly formed Fine Scale Paper Models Organization.

No, I did not attend the recent HeritageCon...actually I attempted to contact a number of people related to the event,
but received no replies to my requests to setup Paper Model displays or vendors table.

Anyway, hopefully I can get involved in some other events to help promote paper modeling up here in Ontario.

If you would like to see some of my work, please visit my site: Dave's Card creations is at http://www.cutandfold.info
You will find there, a number of free models to download (if you would like to try paper modeling)
and you can also view my catalog of more serious models that you can purchase.

I have also formed "cpm" (Canada Paper Modelers) http://cpm.yuku.com
where I am attemtpting to compile a directory of Canadian themed Models.

Hope everyone is smiling while they build and its great to meet you all.

Welcome. I know that IPMS/USA has seen a great growth in paper models at contests. Post some of your builds.

Thanks

As I said before, you can visit my site (ww.cutandfold.info) to see some of my models.
I'm a little reluctant to walk in and start posting photos.
Nobody really wants to see a newcomer showing off or bragging about his mediocre quality builds!

But if i had to post something, I am proud of this model:
its one of my model designs, but not my actual build.
I've designed a number of P-47s, and this one was built and presented to Mac, who flew her in WW2.

This is another P47 I designed, and this one I did build myself.

One of the things I am known for, is my Koolwheelz collection.
I design, in miniature, small versions of my favorite vehicles from my childhood, Carshows, Dragstrips, Movie and TV, etc
They are fairly basic, one sheet models that anyone can download for free and build.
Some are more cartoonish than others...some are a little more complicated with small parts.
But i think they are alot of fun!
