Recently published by Specialty Press is a new book entitled How to Build and Modify Resin Model Aircraft Kits by Richard Marmo.
No doubt, you are probably saying, "Oh God, do we need another book on tools, tips and techniques.” Well the answer is yes.
It is one of those books and more. I have been building model aircraft for quite some time and thought that I would not find
much of value in the book, but man was I wrong!
This book is in the standard 8 1/2" x 11" size and contains 132 pages within the soft cover. It is loaded with 275 high quality colour photos, which highlight all facets of construction and finishing. Perhaps the photos are too good, as it is possible to discern construction flaws in some of the models photographed.
The title is a bit of a misnomer as it implies that the book is devoted to resin aircraft. In reality, the author does not touch on resin aircraft until chapter 6. In all, the book is divided into 15 sections:

Chapter 3 - Airbrushes

Surprisingly, one area not mentioned relates to safety issues and the health hazards of working with resin.
The part of the book I found most useful was the section dealing with scales and math. Richard has laid out the fundamental rules of math in such a way to make them foolproof. In my estimation, this part of the book makes it worth every penny of the $19.95 U.S. price tag. In addition, as you read through the book, little tips are revealed that are so simple in theory, you will find yourself wondering why you did not think of them yourself. This book is highly recommended.
