Ultracast has recently released three new sets of wheels for the 1/48 P-38. For sake of ease, I will include all three sets
of wheels in this review, since they are all for the same subject, and the only difference between the three sets is the tread
pattern (where present). Set 48225 includes the smooth tire, 48226 is the diamond tread pattern, and 48227 represents the block
tread pattern.

As always, the detail present on these wheel sets has to be seen to be believed. Careful painting, and perhaps a wash will really make the detail stand out. As can be in the pics below, there really is no comparison between these sets and kit wheels in either the Academy (left) or Hasegawa (right) kits.

Each set retails for $9.95 Cdn before taxes (where applicable) and shipping charges.
My opinion only, but they’re worth every penny. Ultracast offers free worldwide shipping on orders over $75.
I wish to thank Kevin and Theresa at Ultracast for the review samples. Pics courtesy of the Ultracast website, and used with permission.
Happy modelling!
