Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6 Exterior Set for Revell Kit 1/32

Manufacturer:Eduard
Kit Number: 32-020

A companion to the cockpit set is 32-014 which contains 55 parts on two frets. This set adds a wealth of detail to the exterior elements of the Revell Bf 109. There are a few parts for the engine, but the remaining pieces cover areas such as the flaps, drop tank, oil cooler and super charger intake.

The oil cooler area consists of five pieces as well as an optional outlet door for a tropical version. Once installed, these parts effectively block off the view of the bottom of the engine. Six parts go into improving the drop tank and include a filler cap, as well as the band that runs around the circumference of the tank. Too bad the Revell tank is incorrect in shape. The tropical filter is a nifty piece of work and sure beats trying to make one from scratch (this is based on past experience). It represents the type that featured three rows of louvers as opposed to the honeycomb mesh style. Finally, it is now possible to position the flaps in a more candid position while at the same time display some of the inner structure. Eduard has represented this element quite nicely and I think it will be the most appreciated aspect of the set. For each of the underwing radiators, screening is made from two parts, but once folded into the proper configuration, present three distinct layers of viewing pleasure. Parts 28 and 29 fasten to the top of the wheel well and help hide the non-scale wing bulges Revell has moulded. All you have to do is fix the top side. Also included are landing gear torque links and a new tail wheel yoke. They are not really necessary but every part is a welcome addition.
An interesting note about this set is the packaging, as it states it is for the Italeri kit, which is incorrect. However, the instruction sheet correctly states the Revell kit.
