Les was researching his father’s wartime involvement with B-25’s when he came across photos of the Royal Dutch Naval Air Service. The unit wore a very distinctive beret. Les figures the illustration depicts ground crew of the Royal Dutch Naval Air Service, serving with No. 320 (Dutch) Squadron RAF, pushing a trolley of 1,000-lb MC bombs to a waiting Mitchell at B58/Melsbroek, Belgium.
